Before I get into my creative Ya Ya’s I was nominated by David you has the blog Sanslartigue for the One Lovely Blog Award.  David who is an awesome photographer and has a wonderful blog that I enjoy.  Thank you David!  I do love reading your blog and seeing your fantastic images.

In order to accept the nomination I have to do the following:

RULES FOR THIS AWARD

1 –  Accept the Award.  “I do!”

2 – Post the Award on your blog together with the name / link to blog of the  person who granted the Award. “See above for the link to Sanslartigue”

3 – Offer information about yourself below. “See About Me

4 – Pass the Award to 7 other blogs providing links to their blogs. “Seven blogs that I really enjoy are listed below”

5 – Contact your 7 bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this Award. “I’m on it”

About Me:  I grew up in a little town named Armonk which is located in Westchester County, New York.  I’m the seventh generation of Johnson’s to live in Armonk.  My ancestors are the Kip’s who came over from Amsterdam in 1685 and settled in what is now known in Manhattan as Kip’s Bay.  I work in New York as a corporate litigator but my love is photography.  I have lived in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Greenwich, Connecticut but moved back to Armonk. I was a dancer and studied ballet and jazz for years, was an equestrian in dressage and hunter/jumper and currently take kickboxing at a local martial arts studio.

And now for the next round of nominations, I nominate in no particular order:

Rigmover – One of my favorite blogs.  Mark is an oil rig mover and his blog provides his readers with fascinating photographs of what he sees when he is working with these rigs and in the surrounding countryside.

On the Luce – Lucy Dodsworth has a wonderful blog on her travels around the world.  She has found some really fantastic places and I enjoy traveling through her blog.

Bjornphoto –  Bjorn is a fantastic photographer from Sweden and his photographs always inspire me.

Free Penny Press – Lynn is a great writer and her stories are fun and entertaining. I always look forward to her posts.

Travel Photography by Dmitrii Lezine – Dmitrii is another great photographer and has a fun Friday Mystery Photo which I never can figure out where it is!

Lady Deidre – Deidre’s blog is funny, charming and uplifting.  She takes amazing photos from her plane.

Catch the Jiffy – Adam Allegro is an amazing landscape photographer.  Gorgeous images of wonderful places he visits.

This week I decided to get my creative Ya Ya’s out by posting some of my photographs that I’ve worked on in a painterly fashion.  It is something that I’ve been doing more and more and have a lot of fun working with colors and textures to convey what I was feeling when I took the shot.  The above image was taken from the walking bridge over by Beekman Place.  Storm clouds were rolling in and yet there was a blue horizon still in the background.

Below are a few other photographs I’ve been working on.  I hope you enjoy them.

  1. First congratulations on your award. And that pigeon must weigh 50 pounds. I’m surprised he didn’t not carry off your camera. !

  2. Congrats on your well deserved award, thank you for thinking my blog is worthy of a nod and good-grief woman, your photographs are jaw-dropping gorgeous. I admire people that can capture life in the lens !!!
