The Idea Came Like A Bolt of Lightning

I was at Ellis Island a few weeks ago on a hard hat tour of the hospital.  The room above is off the morgue room.  The room just conjured up the word science in my head so I added a panel of gears on the left that I had photographed at the Carey Furnace in Pittsburgh, PA with one of the Abandoned America workshops.  The man is a vintage image from the Sum of All Crafts.   I wanted the image to have a painterly feel to it which I sometimes like to do. The lightning bolt is a symbol of an idea striking in one’s mind.  In this case I wanted it to be a scientist.
