I had a surreal moment when working on this image. The building is part of the Fairfield Hills State Hospital which is now owned by the town of Newtown, Connecticut. The town is renovating the buildings and is actually using the buildings for town offices.
The image is composed of three different exposures and I used luminosity masks to bring out the light and details. I used Nik Color Efex Pro and Topaz Detail to really make it pop in detail. As with all most of my images this was shot with my Fuji X-Pro 1 on a tripod. The sky is the actual sky that day. There was as storm coming in so it is very dramatic.
