Not Out of the Woods Yet
I’m still exploring and photographing the area I live in which has a lot of woods. I photographed this tree in Rockefeller Preserve a couple of years ago when I just got back into shooting and was shooting primarily with my little Panasonic Lumix-LX 5. Incredibly great little camera with a wonderful Leica lens on it. I absolutely love the way the limbs of the trees look like arms. Harkens again to my fascination with those apple trees in the Wizard of Oz.
The brook below actually runs behind my house. I was driving home and stopped and saw the ducks swimming around so I had to grab the shot. I used a slight gaussian blur on this photo to soften the look and texture. Textures used are from Distressedtextures, Shadowhouse Creations and Dirk Wuestenhagen. I also run my images through Nik Color Efex 4 twice. Once in Lightroom 4 and then again in Photoshop CS5.
The woods below are to the right of the brook above. I’m always trying to evoke a mood when someone views the images. I love playing with light and all my images will have an element of light to them. Even if it is the light at the end of the tunnel kind of feel!
These are fantastic, I especially love the 1st and 3rd.
Breath taking as always.

Just gorgeous. I love what you do with your texture overlays.
Thank you so much Edith! I use them the same way I would use paint on a canvas.
