I just started selling some of my prints online at Fine Art America. You can see my page on their website here. I am hoping to have the tab at the top of the blog by next weekend. Time just keeps getting away from me.
Onto this weeks images. The image above is another one taken during the snowstorm. With this particular image I wanted to convey a mood of the trees actually being slightly ominous. As if they had a sense of your presence in the woods.
The image below was taken in Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow, New York. Yes, the home of the Headless Horseman. Once again I’m creating a mood where the tree has a personality. It kind of reminds me of those apple trees in the Wizard of Oz (the mean ones that threw apples at Dorothy, Scarecrow and Tin Man). I’m also a huge fan of Tim Burton and Charles Addams (creator of the Addams Family Cartoon) because both deal with a scary topic but they add humor and beauty to their work. I try to convey in an off-hand way the beauty I see. I still think it’s all those Nancy Drew books I read as a kid.

The image below took me days to figure out how I wanted it to look. I wanted warmth and softness. I shot this up in Mt. Kisco, New York. It’s a little brook that runs through the town and I always catch it out of the corner of my eye. I finally had the time to stop and photograph it.
Congratulations! (I tried the link but failed — I’ll try again later.)
And your photos are always gorgeous, worthy of many prosperous sales!
God Bless you, Karen!
Thank you Deidre! I corrected the link to the web page for my prints. I really appreciate you letting me know it wasn’t working.
