The Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture was created by David Rockefeller and his daughter Peggy Dulany on 80 acres of the former Rockefeller Estate in Pocantico Hills, New York. The Center is a memorial to David Rockefeller’s wife, Peggy, who raised Simmental Cattle at Hudson Pines Farms, also located on the 80 acres.  It is one of my favorite places to walk when I visit the adjacent 1,400 acre Rockefeller State Park Preserve.  There are sheep, pigs, turkeys, chickens and Simmental Cattle along winding carriage paths.

I got a kick out of all these little piglet tails.

Another piglet that was located in a section off one of the many forest paths.

    • Thank you Deidre! New York, especially upstate is beautiful farm country! We grow awesome apples too! I live 40 miles north of NYC and it was very rural when I was a kid. Horse farms are still big here.

    • Hi Mark! Thank you for your kind words. I process in lightroom 4 and from there into Nik Color Efex, then Nik Define. I then bring it into Photoshop where I work under the Image Tab/Mode/LAB/Curves bring the color in. I then go back to RGB mode and go into Photoshops Filter, Pixel Bender and use the Oilpaint mode. Then I bring it through Filter Forge Advanced Sharpening Filter and I’m done. i don’t think I used a textured background on this one. Sounds like a lot but I have it down to a pretty quick process. Pixel Bender is a free filter plug-in in Photoshop and the oilpaint mode is wonderful.
