Philipsburg Manor
Philipsburg Manor is located in the village of Sleepy Hollow, New York. It is closed for the winter but I was able to capture some shots from the road and parking area. It’s a really beautiful place having been created in the late 1600′s. The Manor and 20 acres were preserved by a donation by John D. Rockefeller Jr. and became a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
I took the photograph below from the sidewalk . I just love the old barn. The entire Historic Hudson Valley is really a fantastic place to visit and photograph.
The image is looking out across the farmland to the Hudson River.

Wonderful photos as always. That manor looks like it would make a lovely studio.
I hope your doing well.
Always
Benjamin
Thank you Benjamin! The manor looks like it would be a great studio. I hope your doing well too!
All great Karen, love that old barn.
Thank you Mark. I do love old barns too!
The way you bring it!
Thank you! Sometimes I don’t know where I’m bringing it!
Lovely shots Karen.. I really like #3..The sun is star shaped..just beautiful!!
Thank you Lynne! The star shaped sun is just something that happens with my f stop setting and my lens. I always get a star shaped sun!
I don’t understand this technic but I love these pictures!
Thank you! I am so glad you enjoy them. The technique is by the seat of my pants and what I’m feeling and trying to express. I play around a lot with textures and filters,
…with great results!
Breathtaking and charming photos!
God Bless You, Karen!
Thank you Deidre!
